Powder coating

Powder coating is currently the newest technology of surface treatment of metal products, using the application of powder paint in electrostatic field.

Our company uses the WAGNER technology.

During powder coating the material is sprayed with powdered plastic in electrostatic field, where the plastic particles acquire electrical charge and adhere to the earthed object. After the coating with powdered plastic, the product is baked in a dual zone furnace. In the temperatures of 160 to 220°C the plastic powder coating melts, hardens and adheres to the surface of the product. The precursor for a good quality powder coating is well cleaned surface of the product (sanding, degreasing and chemical pre-treatment).

THE ADVANTAGES OF POWDER COATING:

  • This waste-free technology minimises the amount of waste material, easy waste disposal
  • The excess powder coating that did not adhere to the surface is easily recycled
  • No solvents
  • No heavy metals
  • One layer coating
  • Better mechanical, chemical and anti corrosive properties
  • Better coverage of the edges and rims (higher surface aesthetics)

KTL AND POWDER COATING CYCLE – TECHNICAL PARAMETERS:

  • KTL operating temperature: approx. 27 – 35°C
  • Layer thickness (coating): 15 – 30 µm
  • Temperature of the circulating air in the furnace: 160 – 220 ° C
  • Thermal tolerance: ± 5 ° C
  • Corrosion resistance in accordance with ISO 9227: 1008 h in salt bath

AUTOMATIC POWDER COATING WITH MANUAL FINISHING – TECHNICAL PARAMETERS:

  • Parts dimensions: length = maximum 2.500 mm, width = maximum 1.000 mm, height = maximum 1.500 mm
  • Number of coating systems: 10 x automatic / 2 x manual
  • Number of sprayers in use: 12 ks
  • Application technology by WAGNER

Dual zone furnace:

    • Length: 21.100 mm
    • Width: 11.340 mm
    • Height: 4.700 mm
    • Cycle I. input: (slow track): 6 cycles x 10 minute/cycle + 3 cycles infra at the input
    • Cycle II. input: (fast track): 14 cycles x 3 minute/cycle + 3 cycles infra at the input
    • Temperature of the circulating air: 150–220 ° C
    • Heating:  indirect, with heat exchanger

  • Parts dimensions: length = maximum 2.500 mm, width = maximum 1.300 mm, height = maximum 1.500 mm
